Taking the Plunge

I suppose this calls for official introductions and also possibly a reason for my belated post.

First off I think I’ll address my tardiness. Needless to say I’m a little…. intimidated, but at the same time so ecstatic to be included in the ranks of the Stupid Blog Name! I’m not a writer, nor do I pretend to be one. So it’s taken some me some time to build up the courage I needed to initiate my first post.

As far as introductions, I’m The Story Siren. I started a book review blog of the same name in November of 2007. So that in essence is why I’m here. I review books, well I read books and then I try to review them. Although I’m technically an adult, as The Book Muncher mentioned in her post she is the *only* teen contributor, I continue to love and read the YA genre that I should have grown out of. I have a feeling I will continue to love it and will most likely become the creepy old lady at Barnes and Noble that heads straight to the YA section.

On a more personal note: I’m a graduate of Indiana University, I’m newly married, I enjoy long walks on the beach and drinks with little umbrellas. And that’s all I have to say about that.

Let’s talk a little bit more about my reading habits. I’m a fantasy junkie, but I’ll read just about anything. My favorites so far for 2008:

The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson

Lament: A Faerie Queen’s Deceptionby Maggie Stiefvater

Gone by Michael Grant

Generation Dead by Daniel Waters

Faefever by Karen Marie Moning

Sisters of Misery by Megan Kelley Hall

City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

Queen of Babble Gets Hitched by Meg Cabot

Of course this list will continue to grow with the few remaining months of 2008.

You now know a little bit about me and some of the books I like, and that’s all you’re going to get for today.

Until next time, happy reading.
