Hey there! I’ve been hearing a lot of video conferencing these days on television like the advertisements of CISCO. It feels really great that people are moving forward in technology.

I’ve heard about Courts using video conferencing technologies especially in the rural areas and villages. Even though it’s an expensive approach but it’s a great way for developing these areas.

I think it's a good idea. Of course having the other in person is preferential but many schools and libraries can not afford it. Even when my library has been able to scrape up money, we've been turned down because the author simply didn't want to come to our lame city.

I think that in a few years a lot of people will be doing this. The reason it doesn't happen more is that publishers (and schools and libraries) aren't used to it, and feel more familiar with tours. There's also the fact that some authors are technophobic as well ("I'm submitting my manuscript on a stone tablet, it's written in Sanskrit- that okay?").

The really excellent news is that you can sign books too! Thanks to Margaret Atwood you can use the Long Pen (www.longpen.com) to sign books from your villa in Tuscany (or caravan near a Target store).

Great Michael! Any other cost saving measures?
